SCOTTISH DANCE CLASSES
Scottish country dancing (SCD) is a modern form of social dancing that came popular in Scotland in the 18th century and is the traditional ballroom dancing of Scotland. Danced at balls and other Scottish social occasions, it involves sets of two or more couples dancing to the lively tempos of reels, jigs, hornpipes, and elegant strathspeys played on varying instruments like the fiddle, piano, accordion, flute, etc. (generally, no bagpipes!) Scottish Country Dancing flows from the rhythmic soul, striking a chord in the hearts of young and old alike!
Come by yourself or with a friend. No partners are needed to attend classes, and you need not be Scottish to enjoy the fun (but it never hurts!)
For more information contact Instructor Barry Lewis at (805) 466-4631
