Adopt-A-Park Program is volunteer based and supported by individuals, families and groups that not only want to get their hands dirty but also want to have fun! It is designed to accommodate a variety of philanthropic goals and budgets. Are you ready to Adopt-A-Park? Help us reach our goal of offering the most enjoyable and rewarding recreational experience possible while helping to protect and preserve our natural, cultural, and historical resources.
Examples of short-term and long-term Adopt-A-Park Projects include:
- on-going litter patrol for our parks, beaches and trails
- cleaning and raking children’s play areas
- painting projects
- planting trees, spreading mulch
- removal of invasive species or re-vegetate with native plants
- create wildlife habitat
- interpretive/educational instructors, guides and/or leaders for programs
- park or facility improvement projects (design, fund, build and install) ie. kiosks, shade structures, benches
Volunteers must be able to:
- provide project reports
- document volunteer hours and financial contributions/donations
Parks & Recreation Department will:
- confer with volunteers to provide information, guidance and support
- review and consider proposed Adopt-A-Park projects
- monitor projects and improvement
- provide supplies and/or materials that are mutually agreed upon
