Lopez Lake Recreation Area

The Outdoor Discovery Festival is sure to have something for everyone! Let us show you what the County of San Luis Obispo Parks & Recreation has to offer. If you like hiking, biking, camping, fishing, bird watching, golfing, zip-lining and more, then this is the place to be! There will be exhibits and demonstrations showcasing the many activities available in our County Parks as well as local eco-friendly exhibitors and vendors. The Outdoor Discovery Festival will take place at the Vista Lago Day Use Area at Lopez Lake. There is a $10 vehicle entry fee.
KIDS OBSTACLE COURSE – This course is designed for the youngsters aged 17 and under. This will be fun challenges that will test their skills while having tons of fun!
KIDS DEER CHALLENGE – Discovering the Environment through Education and Recreation (DEER) Program is designed to forge connections between nature and the youth of our community by promoting and facilitating environmental education and outdoor recreation. Kids will choose from 20+ activities that are sponsored by our exhibitors. Once the kids have completed the activities they will earn a prize! Adults can get in on some of the challenges too!
ENTERTAINMENT – Grab a bite to eat from one of many local food vendors, pull up a chair and relax with some live music by Monty Mills and The Jammies.
